Hi! I’m Sophie. I study pure mathematics and economics at the University of California, Berkeley.
I enjoy doing research in international trade, and currently I am working on projects on food security and global shipping networks under climate shocks and geopolitical risks. I maintain a broad interest in macroeconomics (and macroeconomic development), economic geography, and energy and environmental economics.
I also like to read about biophysics and mathematical biology. Outside of university, I teach German to a rambunctious group of third graders at a Samstagschule in San Francisco.

You’re welcome to look at my linkedin, library, and new blog.
